in which I explain why this exists

Hello everyone who's decided to tune in to listen to Tessa's history adventure ramblings!

So for anyone who has no idea why I made a blog for this summer (I swear it's not so I don't have to talk to people on the phone, I'm not that antisocial...) I'm attending a pre-college program in early American history at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. I'll be visiting historical sites, writing, and attending lectures. Also there will be archaeology and perhaps some colonial dancing (eeeeeee!). A link to the program is provided here. It's three weeks long and will be my first taste of dorm life (oh god).

Since I'm expecting to be doing a lot of mature writing (not these fun little side thoughts) and will be taking lots of pictures and visiting sites, I figured that it would be easier to provide updates to whoever wants them in a blog form instead of through Facebook.

I'm leaving on the 16th for Williamsburg, where I'm staying until the program begins on the 19th (move-in day), so that's what the schedule is looking like for now. I don't know how much free time I'll be getting, but I'm going to try and squeeze in blogging and such when I can. I have a Blogger app on my iPod so if all else fails I'll post some selfies.
